The Sound Experiment

Capture the sound of a crackling warm baguette in your mind's eye before walking into a bakery. Use that imagined noise to propel you through the door. Write comparative notes.

Ohhhh what a wonderful suggestion! Sadly, it would just break my heart every time, because Toronto baguettes are neither crackly nor divine...they are simply the mediocre cousins of truly tasty bread.

Ah a french baguette! For me this is a great photo. At the risk of repeating myself, I was in Lyon in May and for whatever reason, forget Paris, Rome, London - Lyon you have captured my heart. The food, the markets, the rivers, the history, the art. Thanks for the pictures, I love this blog.

Lucy,

I love your pictures and blog. I am a true francophile and I come by it honestly my mother was a french war bride. Your photos and writings transport me. I am no longer stuck in the midwest when I look at your beautiful site. You are a lucky girl living in France.

Just gorgeous. My heart leapt a little - I have a photo of this very spot squirrelled away in my overseas notes.

Delicious, happy sound. Lovely.
